Brown in color this poured a fine thick head that slowly dissipated. It was darker than the 6 but the head also dissipated quicker. The nose was filled with chocolate covered bananas, raisen, cherry, burnt caramel, dates. In the mouth it was medium-bodied with a denisity to it that was kept light from all the very fine bubbles. While overall similar to the Pater 6, this clearly had a denser midpalate with more powerful flavors. There is still sense of weightlessness to the palate the belies its dark flavors. Overall, this was similar to the Pater 6 with more power and flavor concentration along with slightly darker fruits.

Pours a dark brown with a healthy head that stayed throughout. Sweet, citrusy smell with some caramel aromas. Great taste of dark fruit, black cherries, and malt with a touch of coffee. Mouthfeel might be the best part of this beer with a silky smooth finish underneath very lively carbonation that felt like champagne. My wife was drinking a Bud Light as I was drinking this one, so I took a sip of hers. The Prior 8 was better.

Bottle...pours brown with red highlights....super fluffy tan head that shrinks down to a cm and leaves a very delicate and elegant lacing behind....the pour left a small concentrated dollop of creamy foam in the center of my glass-head stays around through the entire consumption....aromas of yeast and clove...prunes and raisins as well....as it opens up I smell faint raspberries and apples.....well carbonated body, small dense bubbles....A bitter malt flavor and fruits show through on the tongue...raisin and prune again...on the finish a bit of spices...like a bitter allspice or something....this beer seems to have many different levels, but they all blend so quickly together, good. gets better as you sip it...but leave it out for more than an hour and too much alcohol comes through and the finish is a salty mouth-feel

11.2 oz bottle. Pours a murky brown with tons of small bubbles clinging to the side of my Chimay chalice and a large frothy off white head that settles down to a smoth slick off foam that lasts the entire time and some nice lacing as well. Aroma of rum cake, brown sugar and nutts. Medium bodied with a slightly dry finsih and a creamy mouthfeel. Flavor of bread, some dark fruit and sugar. Decent all around beer, wouldn’t mind if someone gave me one but nothing to seek out.

Poured from a small bottle. Dark brown and larrge tan head. Aromas of dark dried fig and prune. A little carbonation with a smooth mouthfeel. The flavors were caramel malt, sweetness and dried fruitiness. Pretty good length of finish. A bit less complex and chewwy as the fabulous Abt 12.

Dark brown with large beige head. Aroma is caramel and yeast with a little spice. Very sweet with a caramel taste. Doesn’t have enough hops or other flavours to balance the sweet malty taste.
