Gregis (848), Overland Park, Kansas, USA May 6, 2008 Pours a murky, deep brown with two fingers of frothy, beige head that leaves behind patchy lace. The nose is of rum-raisin, brown sugar and ripe plums finishing with a light, malty booziness. Medium-bodied and creamy with a spicy, flinty finish that dries the front third of your tongue. Raisin bread dough, spicy yeasty, brown sugar, plums and light alcohol. Well balanced and quite drinkable for a beer of this complexity, but it lacks the overall refinement and mouthfeel of its "big brother", Abt 12.
zappafan99 (213), Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA Jul 13, 2008 Taste 7/8 (Bottle 8/11/11) Looks: Dark brown, thin white head, with yeasty pattern. Aroma:Nice creamy yeast, grain, dark fruit (plum?). Taste: Rich and full. Covers tongue well. Crisp tang round out finish. Berry, malt/ grain, creamy. Really nice. greenleaf (73), Florida, USA Jul 12, 2008 Bottle. 11.2. Not much on the nose, a dryish must. Pours a deep brownish black with a small off white head. Taste is big and sweet with caramel figs and raisins. ILoveNewBeer (76), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Jul 11, 2008 11oz bottle poured into the St Bernardus Glass. Pours a thick beige head. Yet again St. Bernardus has yet to fail in making great beer. ogreface (143), Budapest, Hungary Jul 10, 2008 Erősebb mint a Pater ezt érezni az ízében is.Talán még gyümölcsösebb/talán mazsolás egy kicsit/ ,fűszeresebb és picit édesebb mint a "kis tesó".Nagyon kellemes! cab (693), Denmark Jul 8, 2008 Bottle.70cl. Nice thick cremy head, nutty aroma, with some alcohol sweetness. good feeling over your tounge, very long finish.
