Deep Golden Brown/Yellow in colour. Nice aroma, alcoholic smell - quite sweet (almost like a port). Taste is sweet at first with a bitter finish, not long lasting. Hints of raisins, brown sugar and cinnamon? Enjoyed this beer and will have again.

Dec 12, 2009 Dark cider/brown color; Medium cream body; Aroma of malt, dark fruit, and spice; Flavor of sweet malt, fruit - notably apricots & plums, some caramel and spice; Well balanced and the alcohol is nicely blended; A lighter version of their 12 & more drinkable; Overall, a very good brew.

Dec 12, 2009 Dark fruit aroma with Belgium yeast smell. Cherries maybe? Nice aroma but not as good as the Tripel or the Abt 12. Very dark amber in color with a half to one finger white head that dissipates quickly. Mouthfeel is a cherry cordial with lots of carbonation. Nice dark fruit and cherry flavor with an alcohol burn and a very slight bitterness to the finish. Good beer but I like the Tripel and Abt 12 better.

Dec 12, 2009 Bottle: Cloudy and deep amber coloured, lots of floaties visible, medium-sized creamy beige head; moderate to solid sweet fruity (pears?) nose with a caramelly/toasty background; moderate to solid sweet flavour, creamy MF, medium bodied; warming alcohol in the robust sweet finish, balanced by a light bitterness. Strong, warming stuff.......

Dec 10, 2009 750 ml. bottle. Pours a rich earthy brown with slightly tan head. Alot going on in the aroma here, fruit - banana, apricot, plum, dark fruit. Clove, yeast. Taste reveals an incredibly complex barrage of flavors, first spices and hops giving way to malty fruitiness. Long finish of yeasty malt. This is good.

Dec 7, 2009 Bottle, 33cl. Pours dense brown, with compact tan head that endures. Aroma of sweet dark fruits, and similar with caramel, chocolate and candy on the palate. Great warming mouthfeel, with perfectly blended alcohol. A great ale.

Dec 6, 2009 Very pleasant winter day beverage. The finish is somewhat at odds with the initial taste. I felt like it lingered, but not as long as I would like. Someone mentioned astringent... I felt that. Overall a delicious beverage with nice fruit, wood, and spice characters, but none of which are over done. Well done.

Nov 29, 2009 Served at about 56F, maybe a little too warm. Poured a great deep hazy brown like the label states. Smelled sweet of raisins or plums, as well as malt and a hint of alcohol. Perhaps some chocolate. Taste reflects the smell to a tee w/o the chocolate. Mouthful is creamy with some carbonation. Great brew.
