| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 28, 2009 Always a reliant tripel. Robust with grapefruit-like palate and clove-like tones. Light and cloudy but not watery at all. Not too sweet, nice head. Just a little less carbonated than I like. Ryan82SM (253), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 28, 2009 Aroma has some sour orange and some lightly spicy yeast. Appearance is mostly translucent with some fleckiness and such. Nice fluffy head with some good carbonation. Flavor has some definite yeast spice, with maybe a little vinegar and apple flavors, almost like a sour ale in this respect, but not so sour. Something else, maybe some apricot? Palate is lively and even a little creamy. Certainly a good beer, but maybe tries to do a little too much. The Quadrupel is much better. CapnCascade (116), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 24, 2009 Pours cloudy golden-orange with lots of big suspended bits of yeast, thin white head with moderate retention and some lacing. Aroma is estery and spicy but also has distinct notes of hand soap. Flavour is on the bland side, similar to the nose but mercifully without the soap. A relatively long, inoffensive but not terribly interesting finish develops honey and what might be mild citrus. Not bad. Not great. Certainly nothing to write home about. mgermani (865), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 24, 2009 Pours a slightly dull orange with a thin layer of foam with decent retention and minimal lacing. Aroma is quite unique - very sweet honey and that damp grain aroma that I tasted in the Pater 6... Honey-malt taste, more damp grains, a creamy sweetness, and no hops to speak of. Lingering watery orange-juice finish. Odd. Good carbonation and crisp body. This beer reminds me of honey-stuffed crumpets or english muffins. Grain and honey notes dominate, and an odd creaminess tries to redeem. Unusual. RichardGretton (3149), Leicestershire, England
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 23, 2009 Bottle. Strong coloured bronze beer with a strong head. The aroma is spiced and molasses, and the flavour is dry and spiced. Overall a nice beer. Nebulor (109), , California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 18, 2009 Beerish chewy malt smell with some esters in the background.
A murky pale color with an apple juice hue. Minimal white head and action with some sediment suspension.
Sweet caramel taste with some sourness and grapefruit flavors.
Medium/moderate bodied, resinous, slight astringency, and a crisp frizzy carbonation.
Very drinkable it’s gone now I have to look to see what else might be left. kopher (303), New York, USA

aroma of honey, lemon, and tons of yeast
taste is sweet and sour, lemon, apricot, balanced by some dark dried fruits
finish is mostly yeast
nice texture, not over carbonated, thick and a bit slick on the tongue
very nice beer, though slightly cloying as it warms...a bit dried + more hops might be better Meatmallet (125), Salem, Illinois, USA
