Plenty of sediment suspended. Sweet nectary aroma, real fruity, slightly tart, dusty dough, and some pepper. tastes like orange marmalade and apricots. Really candy-like, but the tartness pulls the sweetness in a little, though it remains quite sweet and fruity throughout. The body is a little sticky and sugary, but feels smooth on the tongue. About middle of the road thickness. Good stuff, but tripels never really leave me fully satisfied. satan165 (581), River Grove, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 3, 2008 a tad dark for a tripel, typical of st. bernardus. also expected is the dark frutiness that does well to cover their often strong. nice bit of belgian spice and murky yeast makes this a unique tripel and another great st. bernardus. illidurit (889), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 31, 2008 330 mL bottle poured into a Rochefort goblet. Hazy dark gold-orange color with a finger of tan head. Retention is fantastic and the lacing covers the glass.
Smells very estery, with a touch of spice and a touch of booze.
Taste is classic tripel. Overripe fleshy fruits and a big dose of yeast and dough are balanced perfectly, accented by peppery alcohol and herbal spiciness.
Mouthfeel is delicate but not too thin. Great complexity while remaining drinkable. ILoveNewBeer (113), Iowa City, Iowa, USA

Sweet yet bitter scent. Not quite what I was expecting of a Tripel of this brewery yet still quite enjoyable. DocHop (278), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 26, 2008 Pours a pretty medium amber with a little haze. Tall and frothy white head. Nice mix of citrus, caramel, and yeast in the aroma, even a little sour. Delicious sweet, and citrusy flavor with touches of creamy florals/spices which changes into a fizzy and somewhat sour body that fades out with a slightly bitter finish. Very smooth drink with a ton of complexities. mgoy (343), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA

The color is a hazy yellow while the head is a perfect off-white. The aroma is full of yeast, malt and the spices that I associate with a wit beer. The flavor is very smooth and easy to drink. This is a clean, yet full bodied ale. santos999 (318), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Mar 19, 2008 Courtesy of Naka. Pours a mostly clear gold with a nice white head. Wheaty (I know that’s not a real word) and spicy aroma with clove and sweet orange hints. Incredibly complex taste - different flavors developing with each sip. Fruity (grapes and lemons) with over the top sweetness. Finishes very wheaty (again, I know, not a word) with spicy and banana overtones. Bubbly and lively mouthfeel. A freaking classic, and one of my favorite Tripels. TeamTrappist (393), jericho, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 19, 2008 750ml Bottle. Poured a light gold with a small fizzy head. Found it spicy, with hints of apricot, and more sour than other triples I’ve tried. Good carbonation. A nice beer, but I wouldn’t rate it at the level of their Abt 12.
