On tap. Aroma of smoke, coffee, and roasted malt. Black with a light brown head. Sweet malt taste with a smokey flavor and hints of chocolate and caramel. Medium to light bodied and long smokey finish. One of the breweries better beers maybe just because most of the others taste similar to one another.

On tap at brewery/resturant. A black with very thin tan head stout. A chocolate roast nose. Taste has chocolate and vanilla. Little milk notes. Very light body and flavor. Won’t get this one again.

Sampled at the ’09 Great Alaska beer and Barley Wine Festival. Black beer with a thin brown head. Dark roasted grains with some chocolate and a faint whiff of wet dog in the nose. Roasted grain and burnt toast flavors, with some chocolate that turns bitter in the end. Something lactic in here to. Nothing interesting in this one, but nothing wrong with it either.

I completely disagree with CaptBier. I love dark beer, tasted a lot of different kinds, and this is my favorite so far. A perfect black beer that compliments the food served. Just the smell of it gets my senses ready to eat.

Tap Sampler. Of course it is black with roasted barley flavor. It is pretty much your standard stout. If you’ve had one you’ve had this one.
