Commercial Description:
This brown ale has a marked ruby brown colour with a generous and lasting head. It has a distinctive aroma reflecting the wide range of ingredients used in its production. The fruitiness resulting from its fermentation blends harmoniously with a dominant liquorice and caramel flavour. The body is decidedly malty. The bitterness is the result of a complex alchemy between the fine hops and special malts used. These give St Feuillien Brune a typical dark chocolate appearance.

poured into tall tulip. pours a cloudy bubbly dark amber with "Generous" head(julie) that sticks... sweet not fruity, raisiny aroma, mild in tast yet goood.. fruitiness comes thru in finish.. little finish and aftertaste .. the body of this beer comes in the front.. carbination is in the front with fruit/bananna yeastiness... very malty on the body.

Beautifully rubyish pour topped with creamy beige suds. Rooty liquorice, red apple and delicate strawberry hops in the nose. Overripe berries, juicy raisins, fudgily caramelised chocolate-coated malt and underpinning hop loveliness. Silky and harmonious. Top-drawer Brune.

God belgisk rødbrun klar ale, som har en god balance med den belgiske gær. Duften er dog som en classic med noter af karamel. Alcohollen er dog (for) meget tydelig.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm) Dark reddish brown colour with huge, frothy, beige head. Malty nose with notes of dark fruit, prunes, dried figs, raisins, chocolate and dark rye bread. Malty, slightly burnt taste with dark/dried fruit, prunes and chocolate fudge. Slightly vinous finish with warming alcohol sweetness and spicy hops. Very solid and reliable abbey dubbel. A school book example. Very nice.
