Commercial Description:
This brown ale has a marked ruby brown colour with a generous and lasting head. It has a distinctive aroma reflecting the wide range of ingredients used in its production. The fruitiness resulting from its fermentation blends harmoniously with a dominant liquorice and caramel flavour. The body is decidedly malty. The bitterness is the result of a complex alchemy between the fine hops and special malts used. These give St Feuillien Brune a typical dark chocolate appearance.

Pours a brownish amber color. Aroma is huge of deep fruityness and aged cognac. Has a fruity flavor, with a nutty background and an anisette like element. Alcohol is somewhat surfaced, but pleasant and has a late spicy, roasty toffee like aspect. Nice Dubbel, well done.

750ml - Dark red color. Sweet with dried fruit as predomate flavor. Not what I expected.

Dark, hazy reddish-amber color. Sweet floral aroma, elements of malt, yeast, dried fruits (dates, cherries). Rich, complex flavors: sweet malts, yeast, fresh fruits (apples, pears), dried fruits (dates, raisins), Nice velvety-soft mouthfeel. This one seemed to offer just a bit more in terms of depth than the typical dubbel...pretty awesome. A five minute walk from my apartment takes me to an amazing bar where I can get these...I look forward to having many more!

Great dark amber colour with thick thick off white head. Aroma is nutty with tones of plums and raisins. Sweet taste that combines caramel, plums and slight flowery bitterness.

Bottle. Brownish copper. Very nice example of the style. Perhaps a bit on the plain side, but very nice anyway.
