Commercial Description:
This brown ale has a marked ruby brown colour with a generous and lasting head. It has a distinctive aroma reflecting the wide range of ingredients used in its production. The fruitiness resulting from its fermentation blends harmoniously with a dominant liquorice and caramel flavour. The body is decidedly malty. The bitterness is the result of a complex alchemy between the fine hops and special malts used. These give St Feuillien Brune a typical dark chocolate appearance.

a sim rate: The smell and first impression of this beer is of chocolate and caramel. But that’s not the last you’re seeing of chocolate. Oh no! Full flavour. Thick. Smooth. Chocolate in the taste too. Tastes like a whole dessert in a glass. This is one of my old faves and definitely a top brune! Great creamy aftertaste that lingers like a great chocolate banquet!

This beer was served too cold. Brown colour with a hint of alcohol, with a little slow disappearing browny head. Malty with spices, caramel and spices. The flavour is more fruity than expected from the aroma, with a roasty finish.

75 cl Bottle. Yeast in bottom. Dark brown colour with a nice white rocky head. Aroma of yeast and some parfume. Good taste, some sweetness and complexity in the aftertaste. An absolute good brune.

I LOVE THIS STUFF. Worth trying if not just for the beautiful floral aroma that persists from uncorking to the last drop-reminds me of the Castelain Blonde Bier de Garde in that way. I could not find anything objectionable in the taste at all and it’s one of the best Belgians I’ve had. Now all I have to do is move to Belgium..
