Cornfield (4331), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA May 4, 2005 No doubt about it, this one’s got alcohol in it. It dominates the nose, an otherwise musty, candy and fruit sweet aroma. It pours a handsome, clear ruby color with a little brown around the edges. The light brown head, once proudly tall, collapses quite quickly. The taste is a sticky-sweet malt with anise, a variety of spices, and a healthy splash of alcohol. The finish is a dry, winey alcohol finish with a hit of herbal hop bitterness at the very end. More interesting than enjoyable...
Angeloregon (2000), Portland, Oregon, USA Sep 5, 2008 Bottle from Johns Market Place in PDX--Poured a deep robust chestnut brown body with a minimal off-white head. Nutty, sweet, metallic, slightly cardboardy. I think this beer is a little off, but is still tasty and robust. Not bad. ogivlado (2381), Zagreb, Croatia Aug 31, 2008 Bottled(330ml). -Ruby reddish coloured, medium sized white head that went away slowly, fruity spicy nose. Well balanced fruity spicy and light caramel and alcoholic taste with mild notes of honey, yeast and berries. Very smooth. Scauca (260), Lovere, Italy Aug 26, 2008 Tap. Dark brown with a very nice creamy tan head. Strong fruity aroma, berries overall, and a touch of roasted malt. Very smooth palate, again berries, caramel and a light touch of dark maltiness. Borresteijn (582), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 21, 2008 Bottle @ de Zotte. Dark brown beer, white head. Aroma is sweet, a bit sour, caramel, fruits. Flavour is very sweet, a bit sour, caramel, dark fruits, malts, spices. Too sweet. fata2683 (178), APO, New York, USA Aug 21, 2008 This is in my fridge almost constantly. This brune is slightly sweet, which I like and has the bitterness that alot of beers in it’s style lack.
