| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 16, 2007 Bottle from Dragon Pack bought at Total Wine in Huntersville NC. Pours more of a dark amber/copper color than a gold. Aroma is a very light hoppy citrus style. Taste is also citrus with hops and malt. A very decent Pale Ale, and they should have named it so. bryandhargrave (165), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 5, 2007 not golden. not golden at all. their lager is golden, this is copper. this is certainly far more a pale than golden. hops, malts, yeast, i think i can taste some water too, smells like, beer. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 20, 2007 Nice and clear. Biscuity aroma with hints of straw. Taste was similar with a strong flavor and bitter finish. Slightly yeasty finish that was a tad dry. Pretty plain but I guess thats what you look for in a golden ale. sneagrams3 (1756), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 18, 2007 12oz bottle. Filtered and clear. Golden amber hued. Honey caramel sweet aromas. Medium bodied with a good sized bitter flavor. Cookie malts. Bitter hops with a sweet yeast lingering finish. Off-dry palate. Well bittered with a toasty cocoa note. Session. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 12, 2007 Well to APA style, not to "golden ale" (molson?) specs. Hoppy in a not too overt way, with floral notes popping up at once. Apricot tones with other dried fruit. Quite good. obguthr (1027), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Mar 31, 2007 The bouquet was particularly strong and fruity hops dominate. The pour lacked any sort of head and was a pleassant red tinted gold. The flavor was well hopped, a bit yeast, and stayed a little too long. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Mar 22, 2007 Clear dark amber red colored body. Nose is some sweaty mold hops, some burnt honey and butter. Flavor is similar, pretty much what you expect when you pick up a bottle of a US micros “golden ale”. Sweet and slimy palate, some light bitterness in the finish, some coarse corn and other grains. Not a good beer really. guzzler67 (1278), Hanover, Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 12, 2007 Clear, bright amber/gold appearance with a small off white head. Grassy, slightly toasted, light floral aroma. Moderately sweet taste, decently hopped, with a good malt backbone. The term "golden ale" instilled a preconceived idea of a sweet, adjunct laden, barely passable style, but this is much better than the expectations and works quite well as an APA.
