stoutlover72 (1335), NorCal, California, USA Oct 6, 2008 In a word..dusty. The beer came across as the epitome of a beer that smells and tastes dusty. Not sure how old the bottle was, but perhaps that’s the culprit. The aroma, as mentioned, was flat out dust/dirt (perhaps that the UK hops?). Lightly sweet with some malt to keep the dust in check. The beer was the color of watered down cola, with a nice off-white/khaki tan head, frothy with some nice bubbles. Flavor of dust, honey, and a touch of metal. jcwattsrugger (4045), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Sep 30, 2008 on tap-pours a retaining off white head and amber color. Aroma is earthy/resin hops, [fuggles hops] secondary medium malt. Taste is earthy/resin hops, secondary medium malt. rudolf (1570), Buffalo, New York, USA Jul 6, 2008 Copper, thin white head. Nose is honeycomb, raisin malt. Flavor is honey malts, nice bitterness for a moment then summer grassiness. dkachur (881), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jun 29, 2008 Bottle from a dragon pack from Whole Foods in Charlottesville. Orange-brown pour with a minimal head. Piney and earthy hop aroma. Vegetal/grassy hop taste with a nutty malt background. Like most of their beers, not spectacular but very drinkable. kassner (181), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 8, 2008 Second beer at Kings Arm tavern in williamsburg. a decent IPA but not as good to style as their nut brown ale. alittle on the weak side, dry and nothing special
