I’m trying like hell to get tickets to the Stoudt’s micro fest with LITTLE success. However, that is unrelated to this beer. BrockLanders (751), Panama City, Florida, USA

Soft carbonation...nice amber pour..minimal head. Nice light mix of malt and hops in the nose...great English style. Balance is a word that comes to mind. Consistent to the last drop....great session ale. Foxbush (468), Richmond, Virginia, USA

It was one of the early IPA tasted. The deep copper color and modest head with fregrant hops was very welcome. It was well a balanced IPA with good citrus flavors . It was well received at the event. jah noth (1023), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 29, 2006 Fruity aroma with earthy hops. Pours a golden amber with a nice white head. Lots of fuggles hops -earthy and citric, with a nice softcaramel backbone. Rather like this. bindpmc (88), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 22, 2006 Thanks to the_Epeeist for the trade. Amber clear pour, shortlived and not very large head. Nose had faint roasted malt but more prominant flowery and grassy hops. The malt flavor character is certainly more "British" than many US-made IPAs, but I can’t put my finger on why I feel that way exactly. Maybe it is the lack of caramel, but still largely roasty malt flavor. Elusive. The hops are more grass than pine. There is some syrupy citrus in there too, especially at the end. Nothing was too overpowering, but neither was any one characteristic mindblowing. The result is a very drinkable IPA, pleasant but not terribly impressive. gws57 (1151), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 17, 2006 Had this one bottled in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. Everything I had from this brewery was good, and the IPA was no exception. Dark yellow pour, clear with a typical hoppiness throughout, notes of roses -- but a bit less dry than I like them. Nonetheless, great beer. theacelatrain (262), Washington DC, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 17/20 | Jun 16, 2006 Bottle. Pours clear orange with frothy white head, quickly dissipating. Impressive nose of sweet honey with flowers and hops. Flavors are hoppy but with heavy maple syrup, brown sugar and caramel. Hops grow through finish. Interesting take on the style, but flavors are unbalanced -– sweetness almost syrupy, before giving way to thin hoppiness. Tasty but a little wet for an IPA.
