Lagers get no respect, even when well made, and this one is no exception. The pour is hazy canary gold with 1-finger whitish head. Aroma of apricot, peach, hopcitrus, pale malt. Very fruity, nice aroma. Tastes hopcitric, pale malty, with some honey and apricot notes. The taste isn’t as fruity as the smell, but this one stays smooth, crisp, and complex all the way through, making me wish I had a sixer. In my mind, this is one of the world’s top twenty lagers. rdawson321 (145), USA

Light, but with a slightly hoppy, bitter aftertaste. Not the greatest beer in the world, but one of the best of its style. PorterPounder (3148), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

Medium golden pour, tight white head. Fresh lake water accents in the aroma, Smooth, refreshing lager flavor with some malty, honey-honey like sweetness, a hint of yeastiness and not much of a hop presence. Clean even mouthfeel. Decent. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 1, 2007 01-Jul-07 (12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with gputty, thanks Geoff!) Very hazy for a lager, but the body is a bright golden color and the white head is tall and fluffy. Sweet, doughy nose lacks a balancing hop aroma but since the brewery identifies this as a Bavarian Helles, then the lack of hop aroma is appropriate. Sweet and doughy maltiness dominates the flavor with just a hint of hop bitterness in the background, again being true to style. Linear profile makes this a pretty simple and one-dimensional beer, but one that’s easy to drink. Medium-bodied with medium carbonation, the malty attack is smooth and creamy, but due to the lack of any hop bite, the beer isn’t especially refreshing on the palate. As the beer is consumed and the head settles to a thin layer, some patchy lacing remains on the glass. Overall, it’s not a beer I tend to enjoy, but the dominance of the smooth, sweet, malty flavor without any lingering bitterness could make this a good crossover beer for those trying the craft brew scene for the first time. morrdt (609), Jacksonville, Florida, USA

Pours a ncie golden color with a light head and a touch of carbonation. Aroma is a touch of malt. Taste is clean, vigorous and quite surprising. This is what a lager should take like. Nice job! bryandhargrave (165), Richmond, Virginia, USA

At least with me, anyway. But this was pretty tasty - clean & crisp, no off flavors, nice bready base and a clean peppery finish. Nice beer for a hot day.
