Commercial Description:
St. George Pilsner is a clean, crisp lager based on our brew master's extensive brewing experience in northern Germany. A centuries-old conditioning process and a unique lager yeast require a much longer processing time than our standard ales and result in an exceptionally smooth beer. Traditional 2 Row Pale and Munich Malts along with noble German Hops ensure a well-balanced, pale golden lager with a fine creamy head. Prost!

12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orangish gold body with a one finger frothy white head. Some light sticky lacing. The nose is grassy hops with some crusty and bready malt. A little bit of a cooked vegetable or creamed corn note though that really bothers me. More cooked veggies on the flavor, it covers up most of the malt actually. Minimal light hops. This just isn’t very clean. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a bit of a clingy doughy malt on the finish. Light fizzy carbonation. Overall, not really what you’re looking for in a Pilsener here. Poor effort.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle. Appearance: Pours a hazy light orange with a large, pillowy, off-white head. Very good head retention. Aroma: It has a light, dusty nose. Very light lemon notes, a little graininess, and a touch of yeast. This reminds me more of a Wit. Taste: Light lemon and pith notes, a slight metallic touch, a bit of paper, some cracker, and a touch of butter too? Light honey and floral notes emerge as the beer warms. Either this one has really oxidized or this isn’t a pilsner. Palate: Medium-high carbonation with a medium-light mouthfeel. Medium, slightly bitter finish. Overall: This one left me scratching my head. Not sure why my bottle was cloudy and had all of the oxidized characteristics. It still wasn’t terrible, just not what I was expecting at all. I will have to re-rate this one in the future.

Bottle 355ml
Appearance: clear lager with deep gold hue. Sparkly ,carbonated. Medium white top.
Nose: Soft meadow, grassy hop feel. Flowery with some mineral hints.
Flavor/Palate : Medium bodied. Fairly soft in body. Decent malt character. Bitter edges and top. Fairly good rendering of Pils. Solid but not excellent.

12oz. bottle. Pours a deep golden color with a thick one finger light head. Strong aroma of malt and hops with citrus notes. Malty, yeasty taste with a some spice. A little bitter. Although initially a mouthful of flavor, many of the notes quickly disappear, leaving the drinking with a weak, malty finish. Not a bad pilsner at all, but nothing to seek out.

Bottle courtesy of dkachur. Pours gold with a white head. Smells of apples, dry malt. Tastes of dry malt, pepper, light spice. Decent for what it is.

Not a bad pilsner at all. Sharp aroma with hops and mild yeast. Appearance is clear golden. Flavor is a bit tart with hops and mild bread. Palate is initial bread with a nice bitter hop on the sides of the tongue followed by a slight bitter and mildly salty back of the tongue experience. My overall of this one is that it is a nice Pilz with a solid drinkable quality. I would purchase again.

Pours yellow with a soapy off-white head. The aroma is soapy and buttery pale malt, slight toast and a hint of spicy hops. Medium light body with typical semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with sweet lager malt and some butter (not as much as the aroma). The finish adds some spicy hops and lots more sweetness. This is okay, but far sweeter than I like for my pils.

I think I’m falling for pilsners. Cloudy, bubbly gold with moderate white head, nice lacing. Scent is honey hop citrus with musty fresh-cut grass. Flavor is nice, bread malt with lots of hop bitter and slight citrus. Nice, full but crisp body. Nice pilsner. Nice beer. Give me another!
