Commercial Description:
St. George Pilsner is a clean, crisp lager based on our brew master's extensive brewing experience in northern Germany. A centuries-old conditioning process and a unique lager yeast require a much longer processing time than our standard ales and result in an exceptionally smooth beer. Traditional 2 Row Pale and Munich Malts along with noble German Hops ensure a well-balanced, pale golden lager with a fine creamy head. Prost!

Very golden in sight and nice hop smell. A very good flavor with malt and hops. A crisp beer with a nice finish.

Pours golden, with aroma of hops, chardonnay. Tastes somewhat dry with a nice finish of hops, malt, and citrus. Finishes dry and smooth. Delicious!

(Bottle) Pours a headless, golden body with medium carbonation. Mild Saaz nose. Full-bodied flavour with a lasting, dry, Saaz finish.

If you are a German Pils fan then this is the U.S. version for you!! Spot on for color aroma flavor and finish ! Much more in keeping with the southern or Bavarian style Pils, softer as opposed to a Jever. This is one hard style to make well from a small craft brewery but they have done it! On tap even better!

Pours a translucent orange-yellow. Almost no head. Nice European hop nose along with a pleasant malt mix. Delightful taste. Powerful hop taste, yeast, dough, butter, malt, and citrus fruits. Some wheat/grain notes as well. Very nice pilsener. Smooth mouthfeel but a slightly bitter finish. Recommended!

Yellow/orange hue. Small white head. All hops in the nose. Fragile pale malt backbone, supporting a fairly big bodied pils, with an almost earthy, quenching bitterness. A very well rounded pils, from a seemingly small brewer. Im fairly impressed.

Medium yellow hue with a good white head and lace. Aroma hinted of biscuit, grain, floral hops, orange, lemon, very light spruce, sweat. A very fruity smelling pils. Very strange ale like taste, bitter, toasted malt, and herbal. This something wrong with the taste I couldn't quite figure out. Light-bodied with a watery and lively mouthfeel and metallic on the finish. Little in common with most pilsners I've have. Pass on the beer, I wish I would have.

Hazy gold appearance, nice head that faded pretty quickly. Aroma was of medicinal herbs and hay. The flavor had a nice malt background, but a funky hops thing was going on also. Grass clippings, herbs, hay, and something medicinal that reminded me almost of Jagermeister. I suspect from the divergence of ratings here that the brewers are still feeling out their recipe here. 6/6/04 - sampled a cask version of this, completely different beer, much more like a kellerbier. No off hop flavors, enjoyable. Overall rating would move to a 14, rating would be around a 3.6. Will leave the original rating up since so few will be able to try the cask version.
