Commercial Description:
St. George Pilsner is a clean, crisp lager based on our brew master's extensive brewing experience in northern Germany. A centuries-old conditioning process and a unique lager yeast require a much longer processing time than our standard ales and result in an exceptionally smooth beer. Traditional 2 Row Pale and Munich Malts along with noble German Hops ensure a well-balanced, pale golden lager with a fine creamy head. Prost!

Rerate...still very impressed at the back and forth between some really nice bohemian malt sweetness with the kind-of-muted bitterness of the hops. Original: Wowser! Mine was very fresh. Excellent. Quite a hop bite at the very tail end of the finish (stings the tip of your tongue). Very amply malted. A great example, from what I assume is a pretty small brewery. Bravo! Thank, Britt.

I received this as a gift at RBSG 07, but I’m embarrassed to say I can’t remember from who. There is no other explanation for the low scores besides general dislike of pilsners, no matter how high the quality. And as someone who likes pilsners, this one is excellent. Full aroma with saaz hops, sweet malt, and yeast. Flavor is lightly bitter an fairly well hopped, but there is also malt and considerable yeast. Some very light grass and a little salt. Well carbonated, and a copper color. Outstanding.

If you are a German Pils fan then this is the U.S. version for you!! Spot on for color aroma flavor and finish ! Much more in keeping with the southern or Bavarian style Pils, softer as opposed to a Jever. This is one hard style to make well from a small craft brewery but they have done it! On tap even better!

Draft, Baja Bean, Staunton VA. Pale gold with white head. Aromas of grass, dry hay, tangy light malt, and some sour citrus notes. Flavors of all of the above, very well balanced, crisp and bitter throughout, with a lingering tart bite in the finish. Very tasty.

Bursting with fresh hops. There’s little wonder that I’ve heard comparisons to Victory and Tupper’s Hop Pocket Pils. This has exactly the same hop flavor. Here, however, the bitterness is far less intense, making it an easier quaff than other American Pils. Downright agreeable, I’d say. (Suffers from zero head and lacing).

Aroma is grassy with a hint of hops. Transparent gold in color with a fluffy thumb thick white head. Very nice plump malt fore. Nice and round with some citrus hints and an almost cream like finish that still remains properly bittered. I’d say this one is way underrated.

After a 40 minute ferry ride to Ocracoke Island, I was surprised to find a place to eat that had over 200 beers to choose from - Howards Pub - ate on the porch, food was o.k. and this beer was delicious. First I must mention the incredibly crisp finish - perfectly pils. The Saaz were peppery and even earthy, malts were thinner, but fine and sweet. One of the better Pilseners I've tasted.
