Taste is smooth and slightly sweet with a flavor of coffee and dark chocolate. Finishes nicely with a bit of a dry hop overtone. Papsoe (14997), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 15, 2006 Nice brew. Pours opaque, with a diminished tan head. Per style, no particular lacing. I pick up some roasted chocolate malt and fresh leather belt material in the bouquet. The flavors are dark chocolate cherries, smoky roasted malt, and hidden sour bitters. The body is light and refreshing. The finish is of significant coffee beans, dirt beans and legumes. This is quite well put together, and very enjoyable. copperipa (9), Yorktown, Virginia, USA does not count | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 12, 2006 Bottle - Dark brown color with nice amount of tannish head. Very strong aroma of roasted malt and chocolate - which cooresponded with the flavor. Like most porters, it was a thicker, heavier beer that probably wouldn’t be drank in large quantities by most people - having one or two is a great way to not overpower your tastebuds or stomach.
