Commercial Description:
St. George Porter weaves a complex tapestry of flavors in a black, ruby colored ale. A rich malt base, typical of St. George Ales, results in caramel and chocolate tones, classically balanced with English bittering and aromatic hops.

Bottle from trade with gputty. Thanks Geoff! Pours a nice rich dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and cocoa. Sort of a light to medium body beer. Taste is smooth and slightly sweet with a flavor of coffee and dark chocolate. Finishes nicely with a bit of a dry hop overtone.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a beautiful, clear mahogony with a warm, reddish hue. Small, off-white head. Aroma of hard roasted malt. Medium body with lightly sweet, roasted malty accents with a discreet ashy edge. Subdued bitterness in the finish. Courtesy of Santa (Immy). 160806

Pours a dark, dark brown with a good head. The aroma is chocolate and a touch of roast. The flavor seems to be lackign something, but overall, this is a tasty beer.

Ashtray aroma. Deep crimson pour. Watery texture. This beer is all ashtray and off caramel. Not exciting.

Dark with red highlights. Thin tan head. Roasted, toasted tones in the nose along with chocolate. Nutty palate along with coffee flavor and some grittiness. Nice full-bodied porter.

Nice brew. Pours opaque, with a diminished tan head. Per style, no particular lacing. I pick up some roasted chocolate malt and fresh leather belt material in the bouquet. The flavors are dark chocolate cherries, smoky roasted malt, and hidden sour bitters. The body is light and refreshing. The finish is of significant coffee beans, dirt beans and legumes. This is quite well put together, and very enjoyable.

Bottle - Dark brown color with nice amount of tannish head. Very strong aroma of roasted malt and chocolate - which cooresponded with the flavor. Like most porters, it was a thicker, heavier beer that probably wouldn’t be drank in large quantities by most people - having one or two is a great way to not overpower your tastebuds or stomach.
