Commercial Description:
St. George Porter weaves a complex tapestry of flavors in a black, ruby colored ale. A rich malt base, typical of St. George Ales, results in caramel and chocolate tones, classically balanced with English bittering and aromatic hops.

Bottle thanks to gputty: Not quite black pour, small head. Aroma had roasted malts, chocolate (dark). Flavor was similar, with a bitter chocolaty finish. Solid porter.

Poured from a 12oz bottle a deep dark mahogany with a small brown head. Aroma was of dark chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor followed suit with a bitter dark chocolate taste and roasted malts and just a hint of some dark fruits (raisins/prunes). This was a very smooth drinking beer.

12 oz. bottle thanks to gputty. Brown pour with a nice head. good aroma of chocolate and more roastiness. Flavors were similar. More roasty then chocolate, but still good. Not too much of that classic porter dusiness in the aftertaste. decent porter.

LOTS of roasty flavor in this one. Malt and chocolate on the nose. Taste was much of the same, rich in malts and roasty flavors and maybe a touch of coffee. Strong taste, but very good. Hops were prevalent in the finish and gave it a kind of bitter-sweet chocolate taste. Better after it warmed up a bit. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes porters.

Pours black, quickly disspating head/lace. Complex aroma, smell of burnt fruitiness, possibly raisins? Lively carbonation. Taste of burnt coffee. very smokey. taste smoothes out some and becomes more complex as it warms..bought as 12 oz bottle in a Dragon Sampler six pack...reccomended.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with The_Beer_God (thanks!). Poured a dark brown color, with red at the edges, and an averaged sized light brown head. Aromas of mocha, coffee, roast, and some caramel. Tastes of cocoa, roast, coffee, and some dark fruits (prunes & raisins).

Thanks to hopdog. Pours a dark brown with some red when held to light with a bubbly bordering on creamy tan head that laced. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, roasted malt and light coffee. Flavor of coffee, chocolate, some bitter hop at the tail. Bordering on the watery side.

Black, minimal head dissipated quickly. Dark coffee aroma, roasty chocolate taste, but also something lighter, hops and malts very well balanced. Palate would be perfect if a little thicker. On pure taste, one of the best I’ve had.
