| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 11, 2006 Poured from a 12oz bottle a deep dark mahogany with a small brown head. Aroma was of dark chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor followed suit with a bitter dark chocolate taste and roasted malts and just a hint of some dark fruits (raisins/prunes). This was a very smooth drinking beer. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA

Brown pour with a nice head. good aroma of chocolate and more roastiness. Flavors were similar. More roasty then chocolate, but still good. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 26, 2006 LOTS of roasty flavor in this one. Malt and chocolate on the nose. Taste was much of the same, rich in malts and roasty flavors and maybe a touch of coffee. Strong taste, but very good. Hops were prevalent in the finish and gave it a kind of bitter-sweet chocolate taste. Better after it warmed up a bit. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes porters. Pours a dark brown with some red when held to light with a bubbly bordering on creamy tan head that laced. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, roasted malt and light coffee. Flavor of coffee, chocolate, some bitter hop at the tail. Bordering on the watery side. RazingDreamz (123), North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 6, 2006 Black, minimal head dissipated quickly. Dark coffee aroma, roasty chocolate taste, but also something lighter, hops and malts very well balanced. Palate would be perfect if a little thicker. On pure taste, one of the best I’ve had.
