Commercial Description:
St. George Porter weaves a complex tapestry of flavors in a black, ruby colored ale. A rich malt base, typical of St. George Ales, results in caramel and chocolate tones, classically balanced with English bittering and aromatic hops.

Bottle. Nice brown color. Off-white head. Big chocolate aroma floating off of this one with a little rum and molasses also. Medium bodied. Lots of chocolate in flavor also. Not a lot of hop balance but still quite nice.

Bottle: Absolutely loaded with chocolate in the aroma with some vinuous. Pours a dark brown with orange hilights. Off-white head. Mocha flavor. Vinuous and some Bourbon flavors in the background. Coffee comes more in the finish which lingers into the aftertaste. Some sourness in the finish. Thanks to Styles.

Pours a really dark brown color with a slight tan head. Flavor is malty and has hint of chocolate. Finish is too bitter but an over all good porter

A 12-oz single cost me $1.49 at Whole Foods in Charlottesville. Pours nearly opaque with a giant brown head. Aroma is full of deep roasted nuts, coffee, bitterness... ahhh. I need a candle that smells this good. Flavor is a lot thinner than I had expected- though still good. Not overly bitter, but full of cold coffee and chocolates. Tasty, but not strong.

This is my first from St George brewry. A rich creamy head poured. This a rich malty porter. Carmel and chocolate flavors were evident. This is a good porter.

Bottle. Harly any head at all but the aroma more than makes up for that pretty quick, as you can smell it right away. Rich, espresso notes and a bit of soggy cardboard. Taste is a nice bittersweet chocolate with a mellow malt and hop back. A nice, sweet porter. Just how I like ’em.

Something sharp and antiseptic in the aroma. Pours very nice with a decent, though short lived head. Flavor is roasty and ashy...like ashtray ashy so that’s not good. It’s got a little character, but the malt and roast seems out of balance.

heavy and dark... nothing destinct enough for it to stick out. Just another heavy malt porter.
