Commercial Description:
St. George Summer Ale is our new non-traditional summer seasonal offering. An aggressive late hop character coupled with a medium bodied ale has resulted in a highly-drinkable, thirst-quenching beer. A slight maltiness and perfectly balanced hop bitterness along with it's classic English hop finish makes this the perfect drink for beating the summer heat. This ale is a very pale golden color with a thick creamy white head.

Pours light amber into the glass, with a nice head and mild retention/lace. There are small hints of grapefruit, honey and pine hops to the nose. This is well-balanced, with notes of caramel, grapefruit and pine hops... all very well-integrated. The hops to allow for a medium bitter finish. Great for summer, and highly drinkable. I was impressed with this one.

My overall score was high comparative to the individual rankings, because this beer serves its purpose: It’s a highly drinkable, but still flavorful refreshing summer beer. It’s quite good.

At Virginia Beer Festival. I enjoyed this one. Light and citrus flavors, a little bitter. Crisp taste and similar finish.

Bottle courtesy of dkachur. Pours gold with a white head. Smells of dough, caramel, yogurt. Tastes of dry malt, some astringent bitterness and a dry finish.

Draft at the 4th Annual Virginia Beer Festival in Norfolk, VA. Golden body. Small white head. Aroma is grassy and citrusy. Light graininess in the nose. Taste is tangy citrus, biscuity malts, light grassiness. Overall pleasant hoppiness to it. Body is medium with moderate carbonation and a nice crispness to it. Light lingering bitterness as well. Finish is more grassy notes, light hop profile, lemon, grains and more biscuity notes. Nice stuff and very drinkable!

Bottle from secret santa. I’m actually kinda surprised this is an ale. It comes across very lagery, but is very nice in that regard. Aroma is almost non-existant, with perhaps a bit of parmesan and/or nacho cheese, jalapeno, dry malts. Balanced flavor, kind of toasty, slight fruit, but very crisp and drinkable. Slight bitterness. Very drinkable and likely enjoyable by a wide audience.

12 oz bottle. Pours clear golden color with foam white head. Sweet and floral aroma. Taste of lite malt and lite hoppy after taste.
