Bottle from State Line. Pours hazy deep copper with 1-finger off-white head. Nose is huge Wheaties dipped in honey almonds and walnuts. Flavor is nuttier than Charles Manson, with a huge interlayered amount of nuts, including almond, walnut, hazelnut, pecan, brazil nut, plus a heavy corn flakey flavor. This one has a taste profile that is somewhat similar to Celebrator, only this one is nuttier and doesn;t have the boldness or heft of palate of Celebrator. If I could find a case of this, I’d buy it. I’d stock this year round if I could. It’s that damned good.

Pours an amber orange with a fair amount of tan head. Pleasant malty aroma. Flavor is sweet, with some fruitiness and mild smokiness. Lingering aftertaste and a little watery. Not bad.

Extremely carbonated, sodal like body, golden-amber color. Head is widely bubbles and quickly dissipating, again like soda. Fizzy and noisy. Aroma is slight chocolate, sweet caramel. Flavor is toffee, caramel, sourdough and dust, dry finish. Not super complex, but a good drinking beer. I liked this one

Bottle: Cloudy Light amber color with a minimal head that quickly dissapeared. Light nutty scent to it. Smells more like a meal than a drink at this time. Flavor is pretty much the same. After the "Dragon Pack" I probably wont be going back to this brewer. Nothing really substantial that makes me want to have another one of these.

20-May-07 (12 oz bottle: Obtained 13-Jul-06 in a trade with gputty, thanks Geoff!) Pouring the beer, I’m immediately struck by the color: this brown ale isn’t brown at all, but hazy amber in color. Dozens of streams of small, slowly rising carbonation bubbles keep the small, ivory head from receding past an eighth-inch. Malty, toasty and lightly nutty nose has a pleasant mocha background, but no hop aroma. The initial toasty malt attack evolves into lightly sweet milk chocolate and cocoa for a pleasant, lingering finish. As with the aroma, hops has practically no noticeable contribution. Roast is also minimal as there is no bitterness to speak of. Medium-bodied and gently carbonated on the palate for a smooth drinking experience. Spotty lacing remains as the glass is emptied. Overall, though this nut brown ale evokes thoughts of cocoa rather than nuts, it’s a pleasant brown ale that’s easy to quaff while your mind is on other things.

Unbalanced soda-like beer with hits of nuts and toffee with an odd bittersweet character. Slightly mettalic. I think its because I’m not from round these parts. But their porter blew me away. Its kind of like yuengling mixed with a half decent beer.
