| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 21, 2006 12oz bottle thanks to someone at RBSG, I think kp. This is really an excellent beer. I thought it would be a robust stout, not high gravity, but really like the thickness, light smoke and chewiness of the thing. I was calling it a light imperial stout. Resiny, syrupy nose full of dark fruit and wood char, plums, dark roast coffee, and other dark fruits. Good stuff. Flavor-wise, it’s also impressive: slick, syrupy, resiny wood and plum flavors, red grapes as well, light, liquidy smoke as well, and of course some wood char, campfire smoke. Good stuff, I’m glad I got to try a bottle.
