A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of roasted malt and chocolate. The flavor is very sweet with notes of toasted bread, leading to a rather dry end.

2006 batch, 12 oz bottle purchased at the brewery. Sable with a creamy brown head. Slightly burnt malt nose, dried fruit, light nuttiness. Bold flavor, slightly sweet chocolate and coffee, roasty, light nutiness, wisps of smoke. Followed quickly by a bitter chocolate nut finish, tinges of grapefruit. Very good!

12 oz bottle: Opaque black color with small light brown head. Aroma is sharp, slightly acidic, touch of cream and chocolate. Flavor is malty, fair amount of bitter malts, touch of ash and chocolate. Finish is a bit too bitter. An alright impy stout, but in a world flooded by them, this just doesn’t stand out.

RBSG 2006 - DC Grand Tasting Lineup Black, murky brown, light head and lacing. Nose of petrol, wax, alcohol and bourbon, caramel roast and butane. The flavor is lightly astringent, sweet and chewy, raisin, chocolate and coffee. Finish is thick, nice balance. Good imperial stout aside from the nose.

RBSG 2006 grand tasting. pours a dark brown color with a brown head. has a very smokey aroma. the smoke continues to emerge in the flavor but is nicely complemented by a deep chocolate sweetness. anise flavors also emerge in the finish. this is a nice and yummy beer.
