Commercial Description:
We brew the strongly hopped Keller Bier traditionally according to an age-old recipe and then let it mature unbunged in deep vaults. Naturally cloudy; with bottom-fermenting yeast rich in vitamins, this very drinkable beer is frequently enjoyed out of a stein.

0.5l bottle, thanks Timo A! Hazy amber color. Sweetish, fruity, caramelly, nutty and toffeish aroma. Sweet fruity and malty flavor with caramel and nuts. Medium to firm herbal bitterness in the finish. Smooth mouthfeel. Surprisingly fruity for a german lager. Good everyday beer. Would go well with grilled food.

Bottled (BB 11/2009). Courtesy of oh6gdx, tnx. Different bottle than in the photo.
Orange amber color, small white head. Malty, a bit caramelly aroma with orange-aromatic hoppyness. Flavor is fruity-malty (apricot, grains) with some late bitterness and oily mouthfeel. Unsual fruity-aromatic German brew.

Out of all my ratings, kellerbier’s seem to be a stranger to me. I just don’t have the opportunity to try them like other more prevelent styles, so it’s hard to tell if I got a good one or not. This one really didn’t do much for me.

The beer pours out a dark copper color, hazy with a piss-foam-like head that melted quickly. Aroma is medicinal, wet moldy leaves and grainy. Flavor has some herbal hoppiness, like basil meets cut grass. Light sweet malts and a slightly dirty finish.
