Commercial Description:
We brew the strongly hopped Keller Bier traditionally according to an age-old recipe and then let it mature unbunged in deep vaults. Naturally cloudy; with bottom-fermenting yeast rich in vitamins, this very drinkable beer is frequently enjoyed out of a stein.

(bottle - 500 ml) Dark and hazy brownish pour with a nice and thick tan head. Aroma is rather sweet with hints of hops, vegetables and toffee. Taste begins with a flavor that’s rather sweet. The middle of the beer is flavored with olives, other vegetables, sweet malts and a decent amount of hops. The finish has a rather large alcohol warming even though it’s under 5%. Lots of vegetable flavors in this one.

Very boring pour; ruddy brown, unfiltered, with a small, fizzy head. Sweet, light hops aroma with a dominant olive characteristic. The taste is what I can (still) only describe as vegetably, similar to what I notice in a great many German lagers (dunkels and schwarzs especially). Slightly floral and olivey, I guess, though what really comes to mind are zucchini perhaps, or eggplant or something. The palate is very soft and drinkable, which is a saving grace. The vegetable characteristic is still pretty gentle so it’s not so bad, but its really not what I like to taste in beer.

I had a 500 ml returnable "tall boy" bottle of Keller Bier. Poured a hazy amber body with fruity citrus aroma. Light, easy drinking beer with hint of smoke and spiced hop bite.

Bottle. Hazy dark amber with a quickly fading off-white head. Wow, this beer has the aroma of a fruit store: plums, raisins, figs and the like. Soft carbonation. The flavor is intense. A fresh fruityness is followed by a strong, bitter hops. Only tiny hints of malt - this brew is clearly on the hoppy side. Very nice Kellerbier.

Sweet 16. Well, not that sweet. Pronounced flavor of roasted figs and well-hopped. On a personal note, a new style to add to my list. Intriguing enough to want to try others and yet another good example of the ingenuity of the Germans and their ability to craft a remarkable variety of beers while adhering to the Reinheitsgebot.

Hazy golden brown with a white head. Very fruity aroma of dates, raisins, and molasses. Flavor continues the fruity theme - lots of dates and raisins, but it is balanced by a somewhat aggressive spicy bitterness that was all but undetectable in the nose. Smokey malts emerge as the brew warms. Thin body does not match this brew’s complexity.

(on bottle, thanx MartinKubert) Amber color, white head. Mild, rotten-mash aroma. High carbonation and a small malt fullness, a sting of acid to the finish. Hops?
