| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 27, 2004 Hazy orange beer with pure white head. Not much of one. Excellent though delicate aroma and initial sweet taste giving way to clean hoppy finish. Not too sweet, not too hoppy. But for the appearance, near-perfection. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 14, 2004 My first one of this style and I am impressed. Very good pour and presentation in the glass. This level of alcohol is also an excellent antidote to the bigger style around. Sweet aroma and fine balance in the flavour. This is one of those European beers that would be a session style a la the UK. leaparsons (4755), Leicester, Leicestershire, England

Muddy orange brown with very thin cover of off-white/tan head. Muted spicy bitterness with some orangey flavour and lightly salty finish. Very dry, tart, bitter finish. Medium-light body and low carbonation. Bottle sampled with MartinT, muzzlehatch and Rastacouere. MartinT (5075), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

On tap at Eulenspiegel, Bamberg, a super body is felt, and malt presence is tasted, evolving into dried fruit, caramel, and dark chocolate too! A decent finishing bitterness makes you want to drink more. Much more well-fed than the bottle version... aracauna (2392), Georgia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 28, 2004 This was a surprise. Truthfully, I was expecting a boring german ale with just a tad of hop bitterness and a little caramel malt. Instead you get something much like a British bitter or even an American amber ale. I don’t know if this is typical for the style, but if it is, it’s a shame that it’s such a rare beer style. The body poured a hazy copper with a good, white head. The aroma is hops first, Oranges and juicy ones at that, and flowers. The flavor is very malty, almost worty, but it isn’t very sweet. The flavors are all bright and fresh. Very quaffable. Excellent session beer. ontario102 (794), Boise, Idaho, USA
