| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 8, 2004 Bottled: Hazy coppery hue with short head and some lace. The aroma has notes of buttery and caramelized malst, aromatic and grassy hops, ripened apples and pears, and earthy and woody yeast esters. The taste starts surprisely hoppy and fruity, a bit of a bite. Undertones of mild malts and a hebral nature follows. The feel starts great with a sharp edge but then gets a bit bready and loses focus. Quaffable enough but doesn’t produce any notable characteristics. Syd (903), Waconia, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 31, 2004 Bottle pours a bit of a prune juice color with a slight haze and a small off-white head. The aroma is bready and floral. The flavor is hoppy, bread like, sweet, caramel, and malty. The palate is fairly rich and cleansing; a bit dusty. Overall, this is a good beer and a first in the style for me. Not bad. Rastacouere (5562), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 30, 2004 Caramel colored hazy body, immediately fading off-white head despite generous carbonation. Rather sweet aroma of toasted bread, caramel. Very hoppy (orangey, herbal). Fairly low carbonated medium body. A bit grainy on the palate. Very long finish, dry and mineral. Bitterness has quite a sharp acid bite, very refreshing. A bit disappointing initially, but it manages to grow on you and was a real bargain at 2$ a 0.5L. Glad to have tried this style at once.
