Commercial Description:
We brew the strongly hopped Keller Bier traditionally according to an age-old recipe and then let it mature unbunged in deep vaults. Naturally cloudy; with bottom-fermenting yeast rich in vitamins, this very drinkable beer is frequently enjoyed out of a stein.

bottle from a small drinks market in Rottweil, near the Black Forest. What a surprise to find such a speciality from Franconia here! Slightly hazy copper colour, small head. Very pleasant carbonation, rather low, but still nice. Malty background with some intensive hoppy and pleasantly bitter flavours. Hints of roasted malt. Delicious!

poured a nice amber-copper colour with a tight off white head. Aroma was caramel maltiness, and a light vegetable tone that I assume was hops at one point. Full sweet malt flavour, toasty caramel again, very light nutty bitter finish. A touch too sweet for my preferences. Was just enough balancing bitterness to make it finish well. Could have used a touch more for me though. Would be interesting to try this fresh.

500 ml bottle purchased at Lukas Liquor in Kansas City, Missouri. Pour is slightly chill hazed, orange-ish copper brown with a loose two inch off white head. Aroma of sweet hazelnut caramel faint, also some slight smokiness in there. Initially taste is watery sweet nuttiness. Nothing bad about the flavor, just a bit watery. As it warms things come together much better and there is great interplay between the bready toasty malt and the slightly bitter earthiness. Minerally throughout. The thinner palate makes this quite drinkable. Nice residual toastiness, earthiness really lingers nicely. Quaffable, nice session beer.

From the bottle pours a cloudy dark amber with a soft light beige head. Malt nose, cereal and caramel, sweet bread and nuts. Hops balance out the finish, earthy and softly fruity.

Bottle brown, 500 ml
Appearance: Pours deep, lively, dark amber reminding Premium Bitter but hazy in texture, very good strong saturation and nice lively carbonation, head is deep and dense, pillowy, frothy, rocky, toasty white, cappuccino like in colour with yellow shades, burned like, good lacing.
Aroma: Very nice and strong aroma of high content hoppyness, spicy, leaves maple, leaf, very distinct and noble, gooseberry, lime, earthy, strong in its hoppyness. Gently sweet maltyness is hidden at the background, under the fruity, refreshing lovely herbal fruity top. Wildberry, blackcurrant, pine tree resin, bramble, essential black tea leaves.
Flavour: German people can creat bottom fermented Keller tasting really like a top fermented Premium Bitter or a good IPA. Very high in hoppyness, long lasting herbal refreshing hoppy nose, pine tree resin, bark, pine forest breath, chewy malt, gentle noble grainy touch on palate in the aftertaste, very clean and reduced in chalky or dusty accents in aftertaste, earthy, grainy, slightly bready, gently alcoholic but perfecltly combined with this awsome hoppyness, mastercraft with a long finish duration, woody barrel touch, tannin.
Palate: Body is medium, texture is dry, carbonation on palate is soft, finish feel is highly astringent and clean, gently alcoholic with pronounced hoppy floral spicy nose and bitterness on palate.
