Commercial Description:
We brew the strongly hopped Keller Bier traditionally according to an age-old recipe and then let it mature unbunged in deep vaults. Naturally cloudy; with bottom-fermenting yeast rich in vitamins, this very drinkable beer is frequently enjoyed out of a stein.

tap in Bamberg 50cl. Pours dark brown. Malty aroma, taste roasted caramel, herbal with a weak watery after taste. Good brew, but nothing spectacular.

500 ml. Dark amber with a small lasting ring of foam. Aromas of molasses and corn. Flavors of molasses, corn, toasted nut and light grass. Light-medium body is dryish and lightly carbonated.

Draught at the brewpub. Probably dark amber, minimal head. Sugary and lightly spicy. medium bodied with spritzy, yetbold mouthfeel. Long grassy resiny bitterness with some aspartam and pine needles. A bit edgy.

[Bottle bought in Bamberg and shared with Ali.] Nice goodlooking amber beer with fresh aroflavornotes such as dryness, sweetcaramel, grain, some hops and then nuts, but an okay beer.

Bottle from Wine Specialist. Amber color with a decent, coarse white head. Odors of yeast, malt and noble hop. It’s inviting. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Flavor is malt and mostly noble hop. It comes out almost astringently dry. Very tasty. Too complicated to be refreshing. With time it develops a wood character. Nice, refined bitterness in the end.

Handpulled at several JDW pubs during their recent international beer fest. Dark orange with off-white head. Good cabonation. Is it really cask conditioned or just racked? I’ve tried keller bier in Franconia before and found it much hoppier than this. Still, this is a delightful brew with a pure maltiness that betrays its german origin. A nice restrained bitter finish with more oily hop resin than you would expect from a german beer. Very sessionable.

Very much like a mild English. Bit hoppy. That English taste. Nice in the afternoon while the kids play in a kiddie pool.
