Commercial Description:
We brew the strongly hopped Keller Bier traditionally according to an age-old recipe and then let it mature unbunged in deep vaults. Naturally cloudy; with bottom-fermenting yeast rich in vitamins, this very drinkable beer is frequently enjoyed out of a stein.

(3/17/08) Bottle at De Wildeman in Amsterdam. Clear amber with a collapsing small white head. Aroma of malt, caramel and some toastiness. Sweet toasted malt flavor with a bit of nuts, some caramel and some hops in the finish. Medium-bodied. Very nice.

Cask at ’Spoons, Milton Keynes, in ’Spoons Real Ale Festival. Bright amber with a small off white head. Very faint malt aroma. Sweet tasting, gentle, with a grainy, biscuity background and a slight bitter finish. This made very little early impression, but I grew to like it. And the aroma developed nicely too.

Pours amber/orange with a medium off-white sudsy head. Notes of caramel malt in the aroma. Strangely malty, caramel & some chocolate malts. Not a what I like in a Keller... but maybe worth another try.

Bottle from West Lakeview Liquors, Chicago. Clear, darker medium brown with medium off-white pancake like head. Aroma is fairly spicy and pine hops with distinctive light lager nose as well and fairly strong malt. Nutty flavor with darker malts and spicy/piney hops, yeast, refreshing, very nice. Medium creamy body. A very nice beer, that is very drinkable, makes me want to go back to Germany.

Beer pours golden brown with big head that disappears as quickly as it appeared. Aroma is "lagerish", very nondescript. Flavor is toasty, caramel, biscuity and a touch of butteryness (is that a word?). This would be a good fall brew...football, raking leaves, that sort of thing.

Bottle, purchased at Peace Street Market in Raleigh. Pours an attractive clear copper with a thick billowy white head. Flavor starts with bread/grain, then a twinge of lightly sweet caramel, grassy/herbal noble hops provide balancing bitterness and a touch of grass. Medium bodied with a very smooth texture and moderate carbonation. Great lacing and head retention. Just a pleasure to drink.
