Green apples are lightly tart and contrast with citrus and wheat aromas and a mild lambic character. Clear deep copper coloured body is topped by a decent, fine bubbled white head that recedes to a thin but lasting cover with plenty of lacing. Candylike sweetness undercuts the tart green apple flavour with a mildly musty herbal finish. Some notes of pears and peaches are apparent especially in the aftertaste. Light body with strong, sharp, pointy carbonation that prickles the tongue. Snifter. Just above fridge temperature.

(Rating #368)

corn and sugar making it an easy drink after a lot of work. Popular with my mates, and a nudge to transition them away from macros. Not a quality geuze but I have had worse and less drinkable. Light body. The cork was a good quality.

Corked 375ml bottle. 09/ 2003. Best before 10/2005. Rusty gold colour. Sour aroma with a tinge of salt. Sour start. That hint of salt in the middle. Sweet finish. Different flavour profiles but not overly complex. Harder to rate a beer when it is only ther third of a style that you have had.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a large white head. The aroma is sweet and sour with some green apples, citrus and wine. The aroma is the best part of this beer in my opinion. The flavour follows the aroma but is not well balanced at all, it’s way too sweet. It gets even sweeter as it warms slightly making it borderline unpleasant. Not a beer I’ll have again.

Orange amber body with a small fluffy white head. Acidic aroma with some mild funk and citrus in the aroma. Flavour is slightly sour, with a thick artificial feeling sweetness underneath. Lingering tang in the aftertaste. Smooth medium palate is a bit syrupy on the tongue.

(RBESG05, bottle, best by 2/04) Hazy brown body topped by a beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, lemon, caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, lemon, caramel. Light-medium body. How can it be so sweet?! Bleah!

Bottle, at Den Tatoverede Enke, Copenhagen. Strong fruity aroma with notes of oak, farmhouse, caramel and spices. Sourish flavour, some oak and spices. Not the best gueuze I’ve had.
