Dark gold in colour with a lacing white head. Faint gueuzy aroma of lactic acid, not all unpleasant. In mouth, rather mild fruity taste, with little acidicic points, but thin and plain. Much better than the 250 mL bottles rated before. (375 mL corked bottle, LCBO Spring 2005). 6-3-6-2-10
Relatively fresh bottle from LCBO summer 2008, BB April 2009. Golden gueuze with thick darker off white head. Aroma is pleasant horseblanket and ground cherry, but in mouth, artificial sweetener overwhelms the palate. 7-3-4-3-8 kook (2034), Perth, Western Australia, Australia

Suprising malt aroma, mild caramel there! A few earthy notes behind. Flavour is quite sweet, with some toasted caramel notes. Finish is very slightly sour, yet not tart or acidic. Refreshing if a little thin in feel. Too sweet for me though. kibbs (10), Ontario, Canada

I can’t say I’ve had a good, *real* Gueuze, so can’t speak definitively. Pours a slightly hazy orange, massive foamy rocky head, very lively to start but quickly flattens - very nice lacing. Aroma quite sour (sour wine), with maltiness, oranges, pineapple, fresh-cut wood resin, and a lot of yeast - it’s a bit bitter on my nose, so I guess hops too. If mine was skunky, I couldn’t pull that odor out above the sourness. Not unpleasant, actually. Flavour is VERY sour, and not in a good way - sour wine, sour milk, sour stale malt, sour mash (grain) - aftertaste of weak expired citrus cocktail. Very flat and acidic mouthfeel, light (thank you!) on palate and not much linger. I was expecting to be challenged based on the taste, but what a let-down. Pass. 10/20 for looks and smell ONLY. An amber coloured beer with a weird combination of a sour and sweet taste. I hope (and think) that the 37.5cl corked bottle is better. (Bottle 25cl) mrkimchee (1414), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jul 6, 2005 deep gold, firm white head. mild skunk aroma with stale metallic notes. bready, lemony, yeasty aroma. flavour starts sour like a real gueuze but finishes sickly sweet for the style. didn’t do it for me. beerhugger (541), Oshawa, Ontario, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 2, 2005 Geueze? Well I guess this is like a macro-version of many other types of beer - made for the masses. It has some pleasant refreshing qualitites but it certainly doesn’t slap you with the assertive sour notes that I love so much. Malty and bubbly, apple cider aromas and grassiness. Overall it was drinkable but not nearly truly geueze-like for me. iam (369), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 29, 2005 Pours a hazy amber colour with a big white head. Sweet malt and cider aromas. Light body with medium carbonation make this quite refreshing. Taste is a bit too sweet but otherwise a nice mixture of sweet and sour swiriling around the tongue.
