I once ate some Polish dish with sausage, cabbage and prunes. I did not like either the Polish dish nor this beer very much.

(bottle) Amber coloured with a small and slightly beige frothy head. Dusty sweet and sour citrus aroma. Sugary sweet initial taste with notes of apples and oranges. Light bodied, crispy mouthfeel; slightly tart and woody sweetbitter finish. Mediocre Gueuze.

Bottled @ DBF2004: Light golden. No head. Vineagre and tart aroma. Way too sour for me in the flavour. It gets too dominant, when its not properly balanced by some sweetness. Not my kind of gueuze.

375 ml bottle, 11/2003. Deep-orange tan colour, persistent tan head. Nice leathery, horseblankety aroma, sweet faint lactic aroma. Flavour is quite thin and dusty, faint leather. Needs a lot more flavour though to match the aroma. Thin, light sugary finish. Aroma also has a bit of cherry and some cedar in the finish as well.

33cl bottle, purchased at some bar in Brussels
While walking around the center touristy part of Brussels, we decided to get a drink at an unknown bar, which was dressed in common touristy decorations and served the common touristy beers like Jupiler, Maes and Duvel. We really just needed a place to pee, so decided to get a beer as well. I finally decided to try a commercial gueze. It was not very good at all. It had a perfectly clear dark amber appearance. The nose had some moldy yeast scents, very lightly prickly sour on the nostrils. Flavor was sickly sweet spoiled apples and tinny metal flavors. This truly is terrible stuff.

Sour, tart, light oak aroma. Orange/amber colour, off-white frothy head, good lace. Starts sweet and sour, light oak, sourness disappear quickly. Little bitterness in the finish.

Bottle. Golden brown with a small head. Aromas are sugar and light fruit with good acidicy. Flavours are initially sweet with brown sugar and some fruit. Some caramel with citrus. OK.

Orange with a lasting white head. Hints of leather and barnyard and malt in a weak aroma. Sweet and malty with only a hint of geuze tartness. Faro? Disappointment?
