i havnt had alot of beers in this style, but if this is towards the bad end of the scale as the ratings indicate, I want to try alot more. vinegary, sweet and sour. very enjoyable.

Orange colour with thin white head. Sourish aroma, with hints of wet cardboard and malt. Spicy and fruity. Quite small didn´t open up after 15 minutes in the glass. Spicy and fruity flavor with little acidity. Hay and a little tartness. It opens up after 15 minutes in the glass and gets smoother and a bit bitter. Almost as Campari. A hint of grapefruit rind gets trough. Cantillon is to sour and this is to sweet. Lambics are a hard bargain.

Slightly more lamic character than the most timid lambics. Some light horse blanket flavours. A quafable gueuze none the less.

My first lambic, thanks to robinvboyer for this one! Pours a really nice deep red to coppery color with a one finger off white head. Aroma is pretty smoky, with some dark fruit notes, like dates maybe. A little bit of light fruits too, like mandarin oranges. I finally understand what the barnyard smell is, not really a bad thing, like I had sort of expected. Taste is pretty much like the smell. Very sweet and lightly fruity at first, then slowly getting drier and smokier as it finishes. A little bit of very mild spices, and some more dark fruits in the finish. Carbonation is decent, and mouthfeel is reasonably creamy. Very interesting beer.

Amber color, sour aroma but sweet taste. Very easy drinkable, so gueuzefans wont like it :-)

Nice clean crisp golden amber coloured body with a thinnish white head. Aroma of hay, sour grapes, wheat, honeysuckle, vinegar and a tiny bit of malt. Light-bodied; Nice sour flavour up front with a good yeastie finish coupled with the vinegar and slightly sweet flavours you’d expect. Aftertaste shows some puckering, along with musty and grassy flavours throughout. Overall, a good gueuze - sweet and sour at the same time with a modestly meaty body. I sampled this 37.5 cL ’split’ bottle purchased from Bier Tempel in Bruxelles, Belgium on 02-January-2008 sampled on my birthday 30-June-2008.

Draught at Capone’s: Aroma of tart fruit, light funk, citrus, light hops, and acetic acid. Poured amber/orange in color with a medium-sized, dense, off-white head that lasted throughout. Clear. Sparkling. Small lacing. Medium tart flavor. Tastes of tart fruit, funk, and light citrus. Medium body. Tingly texture. Average to lively carbonation. Sour funk finish.

Light amber color. Floral and herb aroma. Kind of a sugared sour candy flavor. Lights up the tongue. Interesting change from the usual.
