Bov (4646), Bienne, Switzerland Jun 3, 2006 <!-- i -->can; courtesy of Per Samuelsson<!-- /i --> - very pale clear golden colour, stable but unregular white head and a correct lacing; very cheap corny nose with notes of paperboard; sweet and fizzy, quite harsh in the mouth; long metallic finish - this is bad Hansen (1769), Randers, Denmark Sep 28, 2008 Light yellow and clear. Has a mostly diminishing head, white. Aroma has notes of sewer, bad. Flavor starts light sweet and finish light bitter. Dry, watery texture. TBone (5114), Pori, Finland Jul 30, 2006 Can as "St. Louis Light Lager".
Pale yellow color, white head. Dry papery and metallic aroma. Very metallic flavor (because of can?). Otherwise typical "light lager": light corn malty, watery, a bit harsh finish. New country courtesy of omhper. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Dec 18, 2005 Canned. Botswana’s one and only own commecial clear (= non-sorghum) beer pours fizzy pale yellow, but with relatively firm head. The aroma is neutral and nondescript. It’s watery, fizzy and bland - almost Bud Light-like. There’s a vague hint of cereals, nothing more, before it fizzes out into a somewhat metallic finish. The Kgagaladi brewery produces a wide range of license brewed versions of SAB’s beers, but sadly I preferred this one to them in the end. highlandlad (1200), Sydney, Australia Dec 30, 2005 The beer that puts the "pale" in "pale lager". On a clear day you can see forever through this canned Botswanan lager. You could just about use a couple of glasses of this as spectacles without significant loss of vision. We’re talking paaaaaaaaaale gold. Pale as in white wine. As in the palest beer I’ve seen. The skinny excuse for a head doesn’t help, either. Nor does the aroma, which says "pissed tramp pants" - uric, dire. The mouthfeel is soft and watery. The flavour is grainy, chalky. It tastes better than it looks or smells, but the damage is done.
