bulletrain76 (537), Santa Cruz, California, USA Jun 23, 2008 Bottled. Hoppy aroma, smells like a German pils, though a little muted and slightly stale. Can’t really blame it though... green glass and long voyage at sea and all. The flavor is lean and dry, with a moderately bitter hop kiss in the finish. The hops give you something to think about, but have a processed and slightly lifeless character to them. Light and watery palate with a little too much carbonation. Not really inspiring, but had more character than the Beck’s that I had after it.
italianjohn (75), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 28, 2008 A nice golden lager not watery like a lot of common lagers a refreshing even tasting beer with not much head a little sweet taste and smell just enough hops and a smooth finish this is a great beer the girl is hot even before you start drinking it you don’t want to kick this girl out of bed or your fridge this is quality swill AndyReynolds (55), Wilder, Kentucky, USA Aug 12, 2008 The pour was a light gold with a very thin head. The aroma was a little hoppy with hints of yeast, wheat, and pine. The taste was a watered down version of the aroma. This beer actually went down real easy and was lacking flavor. colts9016 (180), Oklahoma, USA Aug 11, 2008 The Pour is a tinted yellow with a one finger head with some lacing.
Nose: Grassy, hoppy had a bit of skunk at first but faded out, yeast, and malt.
Taste A light to medium body crisp and very clean tasting beer with notes of malt, yeast and grass.
Finish: Clean not a lingering finish
Overall: A descent beer that is refreshing and simple to drink, uninteresting, and nothing special about this German lager. GregClow (2319), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 6, 2008 Draught at Bier Markt King West. I had this on the opening night of this new restaurant & bar, so the keg was freshly tapped, making this a great pint to rate. Body is bright yellow-gold with a big white head that leaves a lot of lace. Both the aroma and flavour are very fresh and balanced, with bready malt and grassy/herbal hops intermingling nicely. Medium bodied with a crisp and refreshing character. I liked this a lot more than I expected, although I could see it being not-so-enjoyable from a green bottle or in a less fresh form. DrZao (53), Houston, Texas, USA Jul 30, 2008 Typical lager aroma. Flavor of hops and light malt..classic lager. Appropriate effervescence. Refreshing in the Texas heat, but doesn’t stand out against other German lagers to me.
