Pleasantly classic sweet dark malt and noble hop aroma. Medium bodied, quite smooth and sweet. Minimal hop bitterness, just a touch of crispness in the initial mouthfeel. Finishes caramel sugary sweet, a little watery. Underwhelming, but true to style.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 10, 2009 Multiple 12 oz bottles while visiting my parents. Very strange finding these in the fridge, as my father usually only drinks Black Butte Porter. Poured a cola brown with huge carbonation bubbles and a light tan head. Aroma is light brown sugar, caramel and some breadiness. Flavor is brown sugar, caramel and a slight bit of astringency. Not an awful beer, especially for free. vikingguy (151), Chaska, Minnesota, USA
