This bottled brew poured a small head of fine to large sized dark brown colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a good lacing. The body was opaque black in color with no visible carbonation. The aroma was very nice with notes of vinous molasses and dark chocolates. The mouth feel was smooth and malty and lingered in the finish. The flavor contained notes of nice malty molasses hops and chocolates.

Oct 2, 2008 Pint bottle from The Andersons General Store. Nice rich dark pour. Nice full bodied aroma of malt and smoke. Smooth and frothy on the tongue. Flavor was roasty malt and bitter chocolate. Nice lingering bitter aftertaste. It’s a nice sipper to relax with in the evening. I’d drink it again.

Oct 1, 2008 Thanks Funkybrewster! Pours black with a very nice silky creamy tan head. Great smokey, whisky, fresh cream, woody, roasted malt aroma. Oily whisky roasted flavor, some licorice, bitter ground coffee and wood splinters. Nice bitter dark chocolate finish. Medium/full body, oily,with average carbonation, softer big bubbles.

Sep 22, 2008 Getting notebook online. Bottle. I really like the bottle shape. Pours a creamy dark with a very little head. Aromas of chocolate fruity fragrance, very appetizing. Hits the roof of the mouth hard while feeling a little watery, flavors build as you go. Overall not too bad. Vary strong and full of flavor.

Sep 19, 2008 Good tan head on a dark stout with decent carbonation,aroma coffee,malt ,chocolate,hops,.Flavour coffee,chocolate,bitter,malt not strong,not very creamy,more bitter.Now I like bitter/sweet this is too much.Finish is bitter even salty,bit of a let down.

Sep 18, 2008 Bottle thanks to mmm///beer. Man thanks big time for this gem. First off, as I have said before I am simply a sucker for a nice English Stout, in my opinion they are some of the best beers in the world. This beer is proof positive. Pours a pure black color, some reddish light tries in to come through, but barely. A nice thick brown head tops the brew. A great aroma of rich brown sugar, roasted malts, hops, some fruit, and some smoky/meaty flavors too. The flavor is top notch; initial sweet chocolate and brown sugar flavors followed by a nice smooth fruitiness. Throughout the roasted malt flavors are dominant. Some vanilla and bitter hops in the finish. Milky and creamy flavors combine with a great creamy and full body to produce and awesome brew. Just great.
