FishManLA (164), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA Mar 20, 2008 Poured with minimal head which dissapated almost immediately. Very light lacing left on the glass as the beer was drunk. Nose was woody with subtle notes of fruit. Taste was plesently woody, with a pine/ceder character. Notes of fresh baked bread as well with the bread notes persisting as an undertone to the typical IPA hoppy finish. An excellent example of an english IPA. Quite good.
robforbes (694), Bremerton, Washington, USA Aug 10, 2008 pours a semi-cloudy orange-yellow with a small foamy egg-shell head, really good lacing.
smell of malt, earth, yeast, touch of citrus.
taste is grainy up front, malt, roasted nuts, some caramel, becomes more bitter as you drink, slight dry finish. Mitch_Wayne (77), Kokkola, Finland Aug 10, 2008 Nice enough british IPA but I think the hops are a bit harsh on this and the taste could be cleaner. Underhook (93), Lincoln Park, New Jersey, USA Aug 10, 2008 Pours yellow, slightly hopped aroma. Good effort at an IPA here but more matly than I’d expect and not nearly as hopped. Enjoyable. yngwie (3394), Kristiansand, Norway Aug 7, 2008 Bottle, at Bishops Arms, Järntorget, Gothenburg. A clear, golden body with a decent off-white head leaving lacings. Quite malty nose, with grains. Also grapefruit and some pinecones. Fruity, floral hops in the mouth, giving bitterness. Grapefruit and pinecones balancing caramel maltyness. Quite dry, full-bodied. Pineapple, grapefruit and a nice bitterness in the finish. A quite nice one. There’s something in it that I can’t identify, but nothing unpleasant. The beer need some temperature to reveal itself. (080710) Ole_R (1167), Oslo, Norway Aug 3, 2008 Bottle@Bishop’s Arms, Järntorget, Göteborg. Dense and stable one-finger offwhite head. Golden brown colored body. Aroma of medium sweet malts, a modest fruitiness of apples, and some earthy hops. Semidry malt taste, strong sharpish bitterness. Light to medium body. A little watered down mouthfeel. Short, light bitter ending.
