500 ml bottle in gift pack from LCBO, served at cellar temperature in the St-Peter’s glass.

App.: Pinkish-deep amber, clear, small tan froth. Aroma: Very nutty and British malts, some austere caramel and toffee, some burnt sugar, a little floral hops, a bit earthy. Palate: Medium body, medium-soft carbonation. Flav.: Lots of caramel/toffee/nutty malts, very dry and British in style, a little earthy, a touch of floral hops; dry with some bitterness and a fairly clean finish.

Meh, not awful but not great. Nice glass though.

Bottle, 4.3%. Mild fruity aroma. Clear reed amber colour. Small stable bubbly white head. The flavour starts off a little grainy, turns nicely roasted, slightly creamy. Also some fruity notes in the flavour.

Bottle at my sister’s house (source not known. Copper red with a beige head. Earthy malts dominate with late developing restrained slightly citrus hops. Pure tasting and competently brewed.

500ml Bottle: Pours dark amber, hints of red, almost no head at all; what little is there actually laces nicely. The aroma offers up that traditional St. Peter’s malty caramel candy with some floral hops and a little sweet fruit. Flavour is initially mildly bitter, floral hops, with a bready taste coupled with hints of apple and grapefruit. It’s all wrapped in, unfortunately, a watery consistency that left me wishing for a bit more body. Not my favourite St. Pete’s, but they do make good stuff.

Dark amber with a lasting off-white head leaving lace. Malt and fruit in the aroma, with a grassy touch. Sweet caramel malty flavour with grassy hops and a firm bitterness.
