Decent beer overall but nothing too exciting. Pale, mellow, smooth, inoffensive.

Hazy goldish color. White head. Yeast, overripe fruit, old wood aroma. Flavor is yeast, oxidized apples, honey, rotten wood. Hmmm, nope.

Pours a murky copper brown with a medium whitish head. Aroma is of light fruits with alcoholic notes and cream. Fruity, hoppy flavor with a garbage dumpster flavor lurking within that throws it off. Thin, watery mouthfeel. Overall, fair. The fact that this is called a Grand Cru in some markets is as laughable as it is absurd.

Bottled (as St. Sebastiaan Grand Cru, by Sterkens), thanks oh6gdx! Hazy golden, almost no head. Fruity nose with orange and brie cheese. Mid-sweet with medium body. Lightly fruity with a touch of alcohol, notes of orange and vanilla. Low bitterness. Both pleasant and interesting.

Everything to be expected from the type of ale, but not enough complexity to merit special mention. Yeasty with a little orange peel hint, but the sweetness is the dominant reaction. Not quite as bad as a Kronenbourg Blanc, but should have been better.

Bottle 33cl. @ [ Thisted tasting ]. [ As St. Sebastiaan Grand Cru ].
Clear medium yellow orange color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, flowers, perfume. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090316]

500 ml ceramic bottle from BevMo Salinas. Nose of sweetness, yeast, and cloves. Slightly hazy yellow with a medium white head. Flavor of candi sugar, cloves, and a hint of bitterness in the finish.

My first $20 beer! Bought and enjoyed after a long day of hiking in Cortina, Italy - I figured I deserved the best beer in the store. Well, light orange with a medium head and a very intriguing aroma that was sweet, floral yet still with the presence of alcohol. Taste was a bit sweeter than I would have liked, but it wasn’t cloying and quickly disappeared, and the finish was nice and dry. Still, I felt kind of ripped off - the "clay bottle" was ultimately meaningless, and Unibroue makes better beer at a fraction of the cost.

50cl ceramic bottle @ Germany. Pours unclear golden with a small creamy off white head. Nose is sweet of yeast, brett and orange peel - actually reminds me of Orval :-) Flavor is fruit, orange and warming ´sweet alcohol. As it gets warmer the orval bretty nose disappears and it becomes more like a mead. Hmmh. Ok tasty.
