A quality example of the West Coast ale -- hoppy in aroma, bitter, fresh and crisp. Some apple suggested in the more general fruit flavors. Not much detail or brightness.

Color- tawny, golden. Head- dissipates in short time. Aroma- bran!?! My bottle was most likely light struck from the clear glass. Terrible sample.

Altbier style with sweet aroma, low carbonation, and heavy malt flavors. Smooth and mellow. Caramel flavors exude. Nice Tettnang ’bite’ in the finish. Personally, I thought it was a pleasant beer.

The beer pours an unblemished copper color, the head a semi-creamy light tan, modest in size and as it erodes a fine and satiny curtain forms to seal off the glass. Nose is mostly malt; sweet as is the start, top is light in its feel to the palate. Finish is delightfully hopped, mellow in its acidic bite, very dry aftertaste, but just a bit too thin-waited to rate much more than average, would make a decent session beer I believe.
