| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 2, 2001 Altbier style with sweet aroma, low carbonation, and heavy malt flavors. Smooth and mellow. Caramel flavors exude. Nice Tettnang ’bite’ in the finish. Personally, I thought it was a pleasant beer. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 31, 2000 Updated: Nov 1, 2003The beer pours an unblemished copper color, the head a semi-creamy light tan, modest in size and as it erodes a fine and satiny curtain forms to seal off the glass. Nose is mostly malt; sweet as is the start, top is light in its feel to the palate. Finish is delightfully hopped, mellow in its acidic bite, very dry aftertaste, but just a bit too thin-waited to rate much more than average, would make a decent session beer I believe. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 8, 2002 Now this is one of the best ’Alts’ I have enjoyed to date. Hoppier than I expected in the aroma Dept. SOme hints of smoke. toasted malt, some nuttiness and substantial bitterness. A crystal clear amber color. As Venom states, this is definitely more enjoyable at cellar temperature. Had in a beer club near a year ago and just found some old notes. How could I forget such a classic? pantani (1902), Salinas, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 13, 2004 Decent beer, very very thin, slightly bitter, quickly dissapating head. Seems pretty well balanced, but does seem like your typical amber beer.
