Hoppier than I expected in the aroma Dept. SOme hints of smoke. toasted malt, some nuttiness and substantial bitterness. A crystal clear amber color. As Venom states, this is definitely more enjoyable at cellar temperature. Had in a beer club near a year ago and just found some old notes. How could I forget such a classic? kublai3 (170), Staten Island, New York, USA

Caramel flavors exude. Nice Tettnang ’bite’ in the finish. Personally, I thought it was a pleasant beer. MaxPower (961), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | May 17, 2002 Really loses in palate points as it was really thin and light. Flavorful, however, with a front end of good malt, toffee, and an initial slightly yeasty burst. Then some good hoppy bitterness. Not enough of any one component, I guess, but I did like it.
