Feb 8, 2002 Now this is one of the best ’Alts’ I have enjoyed to date. Hoppier than I expected in the aroma Dept. SOme hints of smoke. toasted malt, some nuttiness and substantial bitterness. A crystal clear amber color. As Venom states, this is definitely more enjoyable at cellar temperature. Had in a beer club near a year ago and just found some old notes. How could I forget such a classic?

May 2, 2001 Altbier style with sweet aroma, low carbonation, and heavy malt flavors. Smooth and mellow. Caramel flavors exude. Nice Tettnang ’bite’ in the finish. Personally, I thought it was a pleasant beer.

Oct 4, 2002 Medium brown color. Crisp and refreshing, somewhat malty. Nicely hoppy. Good balance. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

May 17, 2002 Really loses in palate points as it was really thin and light. Flavorful, however, with a front end of good malt, toffee, and an initial slightly yeasty burst. Then some good hoppy bitterness. Not enough of any one component, I guess, but I did like it.
