Commercial Description:
Barley wine has a unique blend of sweetness from residual post fermentation dextrin sugars combined with flavoring hops from Eroica and aromatic Hallertaur hops. Bitterness is derived from Northern Brewer and Eroica hops. These are balanced against a huge background of maltiness from roasted malts (25% of total). The result is chocolate sweetness, and a full-mouth feel with a hint of chocolate malty anise and sweetness.

Lots of bread and alcohol in the nose with notes of figs and raisins. Big and cloying palate with a touch of anise and toasted bread. Sweet and alcoholic finish.

Tasting Notes from Fall 2000: Sweet, light alcohol flavor that isn’t overwhelming. Light hoppy aftertaste
