Commercial Description:
Whistle Stop Ale is a traditional British Pale Ale. The color is that of golden straw (6.32 SRM). The aroma is brimming with hints of fruit intertwined and balanced with hop assertiveness. The front of the palate is light, round and clean with a dry-freshness on the finish. Whistle Stop is dry hopped with Chinook and Kent Goldings, (32 IBU). 4.0% alcohol by volume. The malts, in addition to pale malt, are wheat, caramel and cara pils.

Tasting Notes from Fall 2000: Very good full-bodied hop-filled beer. Well-rounded and goes down great

Medium golden brown color, medium head. Malty and hoppy somewhat bitter ale. Finish is crisp and hoppy. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

I really dug this beer -- this was not a brew that was going to hit it out of the park, but it's a consistant .250 hitter. Light western hop, caramel and crackery ale aroma. Decent 30's style label, ding for the screwoff cap. Handsome Clydesdale auburn brew with off white head. Dry, woody, slightly tannic with an excellent hop balance. Medium-light body -- a true session beer, in true PA form. This demands food.

The most floral aroma I've ever experienced. I swear it was like being in a wholesale flower market. Nice malty sweetness in the flavor. Pretty orange color with a massive (exploded out of the bottle) head.

A slightly sweet ale that’s almost as good as Stan’s Red Sky Ale, but the bitterness in Whistle Stop makes this beer more of a pale ale than an ale. Enjoyable, but not great. A tad watery?

As it spills from the bottle a limpid amber color, the head substantial in size and bubbly in texture, the color off white with a rather patchy bit of lace. Nose is deep sweet malt, fresh and pleasing, even a slight hint of hop floral tones, start is lightly sweet, malt rich with the top skeletal in feel. Finish is mellow in its acidity, the hops adequately spicy, but overall a bit weak and watery, not as full as it once was, and mores the pity.

Has a fresh floral, hoppy aroma upon opening. Thick marshmallow-like white head that lasts throughout the entire beer. Murky, cloudy brown appearance. Flavor is hoppy but dry and reminds me a bit of a cheap Belgian. High carbonation. Not an altogether bad flavor - just does not feel right with all the carbonation and it is a bit watery which dampens my enthusiasm for this one.
