Commercial Description:
The 3MONTS beer : A wonderful return to nature, with its flavour of yesteryear, this is a beer that was drawn from the wooden metal-circled barrels to fill so many mugs in our Flanders bars! Its bitterness comes from our hop fields scattered throughout the region. Brewed by infusions, it is an old-fashioned rising beer made with strong and hearty Flemish hops. Fermented using top yeasts, like the barrel brewers of yore and clamped like bonderised barrels.

Poured out a very light yellow gold, thick creamy white cap, excellent 360 degree lacing that is a bit slippery. Smells similar to a Euro lager, some yeast, some strong smell that hints at leather. The taste seems based on a Euro lager with a hard spice, nice quiet alcohol, Odd yeast. A bit hot. More alcohol now, too much alcohol for this. Nice interesting mild yeast burn. Highly carbonated, dry, light interesting spice on the finish, some burn. It’s a mild spicy / yeast / musty Euro lager mix. Highly anticipated opening, very disappointing overall. Booooo.

Pale golden with small white head - some malt and hops in there somewhere, but main thing here was an alcoholic sting

75cl corked (and clamped!) bottle. Fairly pale golden yellow colour - big, creamy white head with generous lacing. Aroma of grass and hops, rather faint. Active carbonation; therefore, despite 8.5 % abv, mouthfeel is fizzy rather than smooth. Medium bodied strong blonde beer. Taste is both sour and sweet, with a grassy bitterness on top - rather hard to pin down: Spicy herbs and yeast come to the fore as the beer goes down, with a heavy, dry finish and pronounced, medium bitter aftertaste. Complex beer, you’d never guess it’s got 8.5 %. The alcohol is well-integrated, making this tough blonde dangerously sessionable. Those who like their Belgian blonde quaffable and sweet-ish should definitely look elsewhere. But for those beer enthusiasts who want a kind of "Pilsener-and-more", this might actually be a very attractive brew.

Very light pale yellow nice white crown lacing was descent. Very first inhale I dry heaved and eye’s watered instantly not a good start. Sour gueuze style aroma. Aroma is now better but not begging me to drink, honey, yeast, some apple. Aroma is just way to sharp for me to really enjoy. Apple honey flavor with zero sour but a strange bitterness. Mild citrus and a very dry finish with some cloves I think. Not sure I liked this brew but thanks jeff for sharing.

(Bottle, 0.75 l) Golden and almost clear. Medium sized, fizzy and white head. Grassy and hoppy aroma. Medium bodied palate with high carbonation. Spiciness, sourness, bitterness, grass, light sweetness and fruitiness in taste. Spicy and bitter aftertaste.

75cl Bottle from a gift pack. Clear light golden colour, creamy white head. Aroma of banana and apple esters, grain, light skunked hops, alcohol. Flavour is sweet, fruity, grain, alcohol, some bitterness. Lots of carbonation, but still a smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied. Overall this just tastes like an average strong lager, nothing special really, especially considering the ABV.
