Commercial Description:
The 3MONTS beer : A wonderful return to nature, with its flavour of yesteryear, this is a beer that was drawn from the wooden metal-circled barrels to fill so many mugs in our Flanders bars! Its bitterness comes from our hop fields scattered throughout the region. Brewed by infusions, it is an old-fashioned rising beer made with strong and hearty Flemish hops. Fermented using top yeasts, like the barrel brewers of yore and clamped like bonderised barrels.

Bottle - This was a very nice looking pour, slightly golden amber, with a small but somewhat puffy head, and has that cloudy unfiltered appearance in the glass. Yeasty and peppery, with a lingering citrus acidity in the finish. Not bad.

Pain in the ass to uncork. Winey aroma, sweet fruit, lightly yeasty too. Golden color, pretty clear, nice white head with nice lacing. Yeast in bottom of bottle. a little over carbonated, aging this would be a good idea. Flavor is spicy, alcohol prevalent. Carbonated kick on back end.

Pours a hazy golden with a thick white head. Aroma is sweet and crisp. No specific aromas that really take over. It just smells sweet and crisp. Flavor...hmm. Complex. First flavor I get is some spiciness...almost like cayenne. Still sweet though. A touch of bitter hoppiness in the background. Further on there are hints of citrus, lemon and oranges. Vanilla, banana, flowers. Champagne. This beer is all over the place with flavors. Smooth and creamy texture. Certainly doesn’t taste like 8.5%. I don’t know what more to say about this, its one-of-a-kind.

Kind of a pain in the ass to uncork, as the bar really tamps down the cork. Pours a billowing white cap of a head over pale golden clear body; nose of starfruit, warm bread, yeasty tang. On the palate a smooth melange of banana, pear, amber malts, and mildly drying, flowery hops. Alcohol is barely apparent in the somewhat peppery finish. The biere de garde style has been a little hard to pin down so far, but this beer is helping. Really enjoying this.
