Commercial Description:
The 3MONTS beer : A wonderful return to nature, with its flavour of yesteryear, this is a beer that was drawn from the wooden metal-circled barrels to fill so many mugs in our Flanders bars! Its bitterness comes from our hop fields scattered throughout the region. Brewed by infusions, it is an old-fashioned rising beer made with strong and hearty Flemish hops. Fermented using top yeasts, like the barrel brewers of yore and clamped like bonderised barrels.

I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Biggest problem is the appearance, not nearly enough head. Perhaps I refrigerated it a tad too long. The beer has a nice delicate sweetness with banana and yeasty flavors. The sweetness doesn’t linger too long before it’s replaced by just the slightest suggestion of hop bitterness in the aftertaste. I’m glad the brewers did that because any more bitterness would ruin the delicate balance of the malt.

Bottle (33 cl) from Systembolaget. Glear golden with a large white head. Aroma sweet and malty with notes of banana, yeast, and alcohol coming through. Smooth mouthfeel, but a cloying, unbalanced alcoholic sweetness lingers in the finish.

A big let down as far as I was concerned. tastes very similar to other pale lagers and takes little advantage of its alcohol content.

18 Jul 2006 - Light sweet banana, hop and grain aroma. Almost clear golden colour, nioe sheet lacing and ordinary head. Big hoppy spirit and light banana flavour. Tangy hop and banana finish but a bit thin.

Bottled(750ml). -Clear yellow coloured, huge airy white head. Nice malty, yeasty and hoppy aroma with strong lemon and orange notes and few spicy hints. Also few nice warming alcohol touches but why is this beer in Jackson’s 500 World Beers I really don’t know.

Pale yellow transparant body with a large head and mediocre lacing. Bland aroma, reminded me of crappy pilsners and other cheap pale lagers. Hardly any hops - lots of generic malt though. The taste was light, malty and somewhat dry. Alcohol wasn’t really noticable and stayed on the background. Very thin & watery mouthfeel. Boring brew.
